Complete Truffle Dog Scent Training Kit

The Terra Ross Truffle Dog Training Triple Kit combines three complementary scent sources for introducing and training dogs to recognise the characteristic aromas associated with black and white truffles.

Important: the components of this kit have different intended uses. The fresh truffle is a non-edible scent-training material. The two truffle-flavoured olive oils are edible food products suitable for human consumption but are offered in this kit primarily as canine scent-training aids.

What the Triple Kit Contains

  • 100 g fresh black truffle scent-training material
    Whole fresh Tuber aestivum or Tuber uncinatum, depending on the season and availability. Vacuum packed and intended exclusively for canine scent training.
  • 100 ml white truffle-flavoured olive oil
    Edible olive oil with white truffle aroma, suitable for human culinary use and offered primarily as a consistent scent source for canine white truffle training.
  • 100 ml black truffle-flavoured olive oil
    Edible olive oil with black truffle aroma, suitable for human culinary use and offered primarily as a consistent scent source for canine black truffle training.

How to Use the Fresh Truffle

Place the fresh truffle inside a securely closed, ventilated scent-training container. The dog should detect the aroma through the container without gaining direct access to the truffle.

Do not allow the dog to lick, chew, tear or swallow the fresh truffle.

The fresh truffle is not food, animal feed, a dog treat or an edible reward. Use the dog’s usual suitable reward separately after a successful search.

How to Use the Truffle Oils

Apply only a few drops of the selected oil to a cotton pad, scent holder, training dummy or another object used specifically for scent exercises.

Place the scented material inside a secure, ventilated training container and hide it in an appropriate training area. Begin with simple, easily accessible locations and gradually increase the distance, depth, environmental distractions and difficulty.

Do not allow the dog to drink directly from either bottle or consume an uncontrolled quantity of oil.

The oils are edible food products, but they are not intended to serve as pet food, dietary supplements or unrestricted dog rewards.

Fresh Truffle Transport and Storage

The fresh truffle is a perishable biological training material. It is supplied vacuum packed and may be transported without active refrigeration for up to 72 hours.

Refrigerate the fresh truffle immediately upon receipt and store it at 2–4°C.

Keep the vacuum package sealed until the material is required for training. Once opened, use it immediately and discard any unused material after the training session.

Do Not Use the Fresh Truffle If

Do not open the package and discard the fresh truffle immediately if:

  • delivery has taken more than 72 hours from dispatch;
  • the vacuum seal is broken or no longer present;
  • the package is swollen, leaking, punctured or damaged;
  • visible liquid is present inside the package;
  • an unpleasant or unusual odour is present;
  • there is any doubt about the condition of the material.

The fresh truffle component is not intended for human or animal consumption.

Truffle Oil Storage and Culinary Use

Keep both oil bottles tightly closed and store them according to the instructions printed on their individual labels. Protect them from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

The oils are made from edible ingredients and may also be used by people as flavoured finishing oils. Add a small amount to pasta, risotto, potatoes, eggs, sauces or other savoury dishes.

General Safety

  • Always supervise canine training sessions.
  • Keep all components out of reach of children.
  • Prevent uncontrolled access by animals.
  • Wash your hands after handling the fresh truffle material.
  • Follow the individual label and date printed on each component.

Product Information

Kit Contents and Intended Use

Fresh black truffle scent-training material: 100 g whole fresh Tuber aestivum or Tuber uncinatum, depending on seasonal availability. The supplied species is stated on the product label. The material is vacuum packed and intended exclusively for controlled canine scent training.

White truffle-flavoured olive oil: 100 ml edible olive oil for human culinary use, supplied in this kit primarily as a consistent white truffle aroma cue for canine training.

Black truffle-flavoured olive oil: 100 ml edible olive oil for human culinary use, supplied in this kit primarily as a consistent black truffle aroma cue for canine training.

The three components have different intended uses and must be handled according to their individual labels and instructions.

Introduce each scent source separately. Place the fresh truffle material inside a securely closed, ventilated training container so the dog can detect the aroma without direct access.

For either oil, apply only a few drops to a cotton pad, scent holder or training object. Place the scented material inside a separate secure container reserved for that aroma.

Begin with clearly presented targets before progressing to concealed indoor hides and controlled outdoor searches. Reward the dog separately after a correct identification.

Keep the three scent sources and their training objects clearly labelled and separate to reduce unintended scent transfer.

The fresh truffle is a perishable biological training material supplied in vacuum packaging. It may be transported without active refrigeration for up to 72 hours from dispatch.

Refrigerate it immediately upon receipt at 2–4°C. Keep the vacuum package sealed until the material is required. Once opened, use it immediately and discard any unused material after the training session.

Do not open the package and discard the material if delivery has exceeded 72 hours from dispatch, the vacuum seal is broken, the package is swollen, leaking, punctured or damaged, visible liquid is present, an unpleasant or unusual odour is detected, or there is any doubt about its condition.

Keep both bottles tightly closed and follow the best-before date and storage instructions printed on their individual labels. Protect the oils from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

Do not allow the dog to drink directly from either bottle or consume an uncontrolled quantity. The oils are not pet food, dietary supplements or unrestricted dog rewards.

The oils are edible food products for human use, but their primary purpose in this kit is to provide repeatable aroma cues during controlled canine training exercises.

Because the kit contains perishable fresh truffle material, select a delivery service expected to arrive within 72 hours of dispatch. Available services, prices and estimated transit times are shown at checkout.

Three Scent Sources for Progressive Recognition Training

Introduce each material separately before combining black and white truffle search exercises

The Triple Kit combines fresh black truffle scent-training material with separate white and black truffle-flavoured olive oils. Use each material as an individual aroma cue and keep its container and training objects clearly labelled.

Begin with clearly presented targets in a quiet environment. Progress gradually to concealed indoor hides and controlled outdoor searches only after the dog reliably identifies the selected cue. Reward the dog separately after each correct response.

The oils provide repeatable training cues, while the fresh truffle provides natural biological scent material. The sources should not be presented as identical or mixed together during the initial recognition stages.

Truffle Dog Training Triple Kit – Frequently Asked Questions

Kit contents, separate scent cues, storage, safety and supervised use

The kit contains 100 g of vacuum-packed fresh Tuber aestivum or Tuber uncinatum scent-training material, 100 ml of white truffle-flavoured olive oil and 100 ml of black truffle-flavoured olive oil. The fresh material and the oils have different intended uses.

The fresh truffle provides natural biological black truffle scent material, while the two oils provide separate and repeatable white and black truffle aroma cues. Introduce the sources separately so the dog can learn each target without unnecessary scent mixing.

Place the vacuum-packed fresh truffle material inside a securely closed, ventilated scent-training container. Allow the dog to detect the aroma without gaining direct access. Do not allow licking, chewing, tearing or swallowing, and provide the dog’s normal reward separately.

Apply only a few drops of the selected oil to a cotton pad, scent holder or training object. Place it inside a secure container reserved for that aroma. Do not allow the dog to drink from the bottle or consume an uncontrolled quantity of oil.

Refrigerate the sealed fresh truffle material immediately at 2–4°C and use it immediately after opening. Discard it if delivery exceeds 72 hours from dispatch, the vacuum is lost, the package is damaged or swollen, visible liquid is present, an unusual odour is detected or its condition is uncertain.

Keep both oil bottles tightly closed and follow the storage instructions and best-before dates shown on their individual labels.
